“[SSEX BBOX] is a social justice project that aims to put a spotlight on gender and sexuality, focusing on the LGBTQIA+ population/theme. Our actions include spreading instruments for awareness, reducing isolation, facilitating education, fostering community building, and questioning old beliefs regarding gender and sexuality. We work in the cities of São Paulo (Brazil), San Francisco (USA), Berlin (Germany) and Barcelona (Spain).

The project began in 2011 from a series of educational web-documentaries that that explore themes of sexuality to promote social changes based on human rights.

To enlarge, broaden and deepen the conversation, [SSEX BBOX] developed into other formats such as: film exhibitions followed by debate sessions, publications, podcasts and workshops. These were partially accomplished in partnership with Sao Paulo’s SESC, Itaú Cultural, Fórum das Empresas LGBT and UNICEF.

Besides these actions, the 1st International Conference [SSEX BBOX] & Mix Brasil happened in 2015, from the 17th to the 22nd of November at Centro Cultural São Paulo. The 2nd International Conference happened one year later, in 2016, from the 9th to the 20th of November, also at Centro Cultural São Paulo.”
